In this presentation, presented the meanings of known and lesser-known symbols and codes of hip-hop and reggae - as an invitation to read it again and use self-aware.
symbols are symbols, they have a coded meaning, which can be read only by the initiated. They allow an elegant and complex form of communication in which all in a split second philosophical concepts, Weldbilder, historical and religious contexts can be communicated. Characters, images, patterns, but also words, language, gestures and music can provide a symbolic character. Due to the aggressive commercialization of Black cultures like hip hop and Rastafari and related music styles like rap and reggae these meanings are all too often covered by most interpretations. This Power Point presentation invites visual and musical examples for resistance development ceiling of the messages contained in language and style of rap and reggae.
